Intro to Dragracing

Schedule/Results

Guest Book Page

Hello my Name is Scott Janney. I currently drag race motorcycles with my family. My wife Sheryl keeps track of my times, those of my competitors and helps me pick my dial in numbers. My kids Natalie and Chris help with the maint of the bikes. This is a webpage about that racing. This webpage will update the adventures that my family and I have racing.
I started racing in July of 1998 at Marion County International Raceway. It was there that I met one of the true gentlemen of the sport Scott Grigaluinas. He helped me that night to win the first race that I entered on a 1982 Honda ft500 Ascott. The first round win was against Scott G. I won that round with a perfect .500 reaction time. Now how is that for a beginning?

I currently race two Hondas. A 1998 CBR 600 F3 that my best time is a 11.14@ 122mph. And a 1999 CBR1100XX Black bird that I have just started out with.
Right now we are at the getting acquainted stage and my best time is a 10.31 and best mph 134mph.

The 600 will compete in the 600 shootout in 2001 with Kevin Askew at the controls. At Memphis he did a shakedown run of 10.51 with lots of room to spare. At Rockingham in April 2001 Kevin runs a best of 10.41.

Dragracing, Any one can race

If you are into dragracing as much as I am drop me a line, or lets talk dragracing in the pits at MCIR or any IDBA event, or send me some of your favorite links.

Drag racing is a very different sport. Where the best of friends can be just that until the green light comes on. And after the finish line you can be friends again. Helping out your fellow competitors and making friends out of them. Being the best competitor and the best gentlemen that you can be. That's what I learned from the master Scott G.

1999 Honda CBR1100XX Blackbird
I have been racing for a little over two years, in that time I have rode 4 motorcycles. I have cut a perfect .500 reaction time with all of my bikes. I practice with a final round practice tree religiously during off times to keep reflexes sharp and highly recommend them to anyone starting out or just plain serious about racing.
